Both listening and reading comprehension are developed in a variety of ways in Animated-Literacy™. Each Animated-Alphabet™ Character’s story includes the five critical elements of storytelling (characters, setting, problems, actions to resolve problems, and feelings of success or failure). As students listen to, act out, and retell the stories they develop an intuitive understanding of story structure.
As each Animated-Alphabet™ Character is introduced, teachers are encouraged to read and discuss related literature to their students. Topics and book titles of both narrative and expository text are provided with each Animated-Literacy™ lesson.
