Early research on the development and effectiveness of Animated-Literacy™ is included in The Story, Song, And Action Book. The early research was conducted by the developers of the program. In two pilot studies, student achievement scores on a standardized test of “total reading” (CTBS from McGraw-Hill) were raised from fewer than 25% of students scoring at or above the fiftieth percentile in reading to more than 68%. Each study included a multilingual, multi-ethnic population of first-grade students.
